XX Anniversary International Environmental Forum Baltic Sea Day is organized in St. Petersburg, Russia, on 21–22 March 2019. The event will gather stakeholders from the Baltic Sea Region to share experiences and good practices, exchange plans for the future and ways to achieve the ambitious aims for the protection of the Baltic Sea marine environment.

This year, the agenda of the Forum will address the issue of sustainable development for the Baltic Sea, the Baltic Sea Action Plan and its update, as well as contributions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals of the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development. The Baltic Sea Regional Nutrient Recycling Strategy will be addressed in panel discussions. Other topics, such as biodiversity conservation, fisheries in the Baltic Sea, environmental consequences of physical damage to the sea floor, marine litter will be raised during the round table sessions of the Forum.

Agenda (draft 26.02.2019)

 

IWAMA project will be presented during the event in the framework of the platform BSR WATER launched to enhance continuous cross-sectoral cooperation in smart water management. During this meeting, water sector experts will discuss potential solutions to enhance P-recycling in the wastewater sector (21 March 2019, 10.00–13.00, hall B3-B5). The IWAMA approach to smart sludge handling will be presented together with one of the investments launched in the project.
