IWAMA Workshop in Gdansk

The IWAMA project has organized six extensive workshops throughout its duration, each focusing on a particular topic, recognized by partners as essential in the continuous process of capacity development in the wastewater treatment sector. The project covered subjects of energy consumption and production, sludge handling, reduction of nutrients – and most recently, existing challenges in maintenance of plants.

 

The 5th IWAMA Capacity Development workshop was organized on 13-15 June 2018 in Kalmar, Sweden. The workshop focused on the topic recently trending: nutrient reduction and recovery in the wastewater treatment sector. Over 70 participants representing academia, research institutions, wastewater treatment utilities and private companies participated in the event.

The 4th IWAMA workshop on Smart Sludge Management was organized in Tartu, Estonia, on 8–9 February 2018. The workshop brought together more than 95 participants representing regional organizations, national ministries, universities and local practitioners to discuss sludge handling issues in the Baltic Sea Region.

The 3rd Capacity Development Workshop focused on the theme “Energy efficiency in WWT”. The workshop was organized in Szczecin, Poland on 7–8 June 2017.

The 2nd International Capacity Development Workshop was organized in the framework of the IWAMA project in Boltenhagen, Germany on 14–15 February 2017.

The 1st International Capacity Development Workshop took place in Lahti, Finland on 20-21 September 2016.
